If I were to explain how I approach life, it would probably resemble most like a bull in a china shop. I’ve made a lot of mistakes. But there’s no manual out there for how to adult, especially when first entering the workforce. I’ve learned a lot of what I know mostly the old-fashioned way. Saying or assuming the wrong thing, and fucking things up. Here are 5 lessons you can take with you on your magical trek through the dark unknown of the labor jungle.

1. Don't count your chickens

Don't celebrate a job promotion or significant deal until you have the contract signed, it started, and you are receiving money. And even then it's not a sure bet. Let yourself be excited about the new opportunity but also settle in before you actually celebrate.
