5 Popular Things That Are Bullshit
Whenever anything happens, wisdom seeks to come in and assert itself retroactively. Want to do something right? “Measure twice and cut once.” Mess up badly? “You need to break a few eggs to make an omelet.”
See what I mean? Wisdom never appears accountable when it’s wrong, it only comes into play when what the wisdom foretold comes true. And then it gets reinforced by those who want to seem wise, continuing its relevance despite its shoddy foundations in logic.
The lamest one I can think of is, ‘Everything happens for a reason.” What does that even mean?
Watch out for people sharing wisdom, they may just be trying to impress you. But why is the question? Constantly experiment and seek out answers, but be wary of bearded men pretending to stay profound things.
A basic set of manners is universally respected across cultures, businesses, and relationships. Hello, goodbye, thank you. But especially in America, there is an over-politeness that acts as a shield of fakeness between people. People are just pretending to be nice because they are terrified of actually connecting with another human being. Just do something against the other person’s interest or jeer them a little bit and often you see how fast that shrowd of pleasantries dissipates, and the real person is revealed.
The more someone tries to treat you like a toddler, the more you should suspect them. But you already know, our instinct reveals such: That guy that’s acting way too nice to you..you know what he’s after. The person who treats you differently but wants to know how much they respect and admire your culture…racist. I always know when someone is trying to sell me something because they are trying so hard to compliment me and how quickly they disappear after the deal is done or I lack interest.
In so many instances in my life, the potentiality for actual human connection has revealed itself in…jokes. At some point, I make fun of myself or make fun of them. If they don't like it, they probably didn't like you to begin with. But in most cases after joking, this bullshit fakeness comes down and we are able to have an honest…
