A lot of people I talk to are either vehemently opposed to or zealously vested in BitCoin. This article is not for them.

There are so many people in the middle who are like…What the hell is it? What does it do? Should I care? My goal is to break down the important info so you can understand what this is all about.

#1: What does it do

We don't need to understand how the Internet, nuclear fusion, or even a dollar works in order to understand it. The importance is what it does.

Bitcoin is an alternative currency to the dollar or national currency. That’s all you really have to know. We get caught up in the complex, dense, and boring of how it works to the point of completely mystifying what it actually means.

#2: Why is this important?

In the U.S. especially, the government continues to print money to pay its debts. This cheapens the value of the U.S. currency, increasing inflation (decreases the value of the dollar).

Just yesterday, the U.S.government hiked the debt ceiling, avoiding defaulting on its debt, but it can't do that forever.
