So in America, it all depends on what you personally choose to read and watch. Some newspapers do have foreign news and others don’t. There are several news stations and dozens of different newspapers you would subscribe to as a member depending on what you’re looking for. People read what interests them and newspapers usually serve more like confirmation bias rather than seeing what's going on in the world.
One of the reasons I like to get some of my news from the BBC. I like to know what's going on in Europe and we don't hear too much about it from most of the news sources here.
