Thanks for reading Peter!

As a Darwinist, I don't think Dawkins is necessarily implying DNA is "alive" and "intelligent" like human organisms are, but that DNA is what directly influences and drives our evolution.

If we are the program, DNA is the code which it runs on. And we've only begun to decode what it aims to do. While it seems apparent that our DNA is designed for us to survive and procreate, Darwin uses many examples to show paradoxes within these conceptions.

"DNA neither cares or knows. DNA just is...And we dance to it's music." RD

Being a hardened atheist, his prying into this murky area is sure to split the room, but it's remained one of my favorite books because it definitely raises a lot of interesting questions for the scientific crowd.

For instance, companies like CRISPR, aims to use technology to change DNA to prevent diseases. Are we reaching the point of evolution where we will back in the driver's seat and ultimately control our own destiny? What kind of ramifications will come with that?
