The Secret Meaning Behind Kim Kardashian’s Met Gala Outfit

You may have seen pictures of Kim Kardashian at the 2021 Met Gala a few days ago, sporting a head-to-toe black bodysuit with only her ponytail showing. This publicity stunt surely took the event by storm springing forth a blitzkrieg of memes, bewilderment, and astonishment.
One may think this stunt was to commemorate and Kanye’s mother Donda, which is also the name of his recently released album he wants to advertise. It may be in part, but that’s not the whole story.
Additionally, when questioned about the meaning of the Balenciaga bodysuit, she wrote, “What’s more American than a T-shirt head to toe?!” A pretty trite and flippant answer considering the lengths undertaken and the fact that it hardly resembles a T-Shirt. It’s a “fame flex” that bolsters just how strong her brand and influence are in the world. She can change or lose form almost entirely and you would still know it’s her and what she stands for. She doesn’t even have to try and she steals the show. She doesn't need to show skin to get attention. She can wear anything and be recognized by the world.
Is this art? Publicly conviluting a simple idea to fuel narcissism? Sounds like it could be art to me. It’s actually a lot less boring than most art because it is very…
