We’ve Been Dieting All Wrong

But I think I get it now

I’ve been on many diets, and sadly, while some of them do work, I find most of them far too restrictive and hard to follow for the long term.

Although, after I read Dan Buettner’s legendary book entitled Blue Zones, I was instantly charmed by the long-living people located in Sicily and neighboring Sardina. With some of the most centenarians(people over 100 years old) per capita, they have found a way to have their carbs and eat them too. While there are other cultural factors that lead to their longevity and vitality, I believe it is mainly the food.

So like any naive American, I went out and bought all the olive oil, pasta, sauce, and Italian ingredients I could get my hands on.

I blew up like a balloon within months and became lethargic. I thought to myself…where did I go wrong? I am eating the same kind of food as the Italians in the “blue zones”!!
